Ventilation System FAQ
How many outlet vents will I need?
We recommend that each bedroom has an individual outlet vent, along with one vent per main room, such as one for a living and dining room each, or one vent for a combined lounge/dining; our qualified team will ensure the best results. We don’t recommend vents in the kitchen or bathrooms, as an extractor fan should be used to remove the moisture.
Do ventilation systems need maintenance?
It is important to replace the filter every 12 months, which can be easily done yourself. We can supply the filter with instructions, and reset the system (most systems require resetting after a filer change). If you are not comfortable doing this, our friendly team can supply and change the filter at an affordable rate, along with and repairs and on-going support required.
Is the ventilation system noisy?
You will hear a humming noise from the system when the ambient noise is low, which is why it’s important to place the fan in the right place. Our qualified and experienced team ensures the best results for your needs.
How do I operate a ventilation system?
All systems are different and a user guide is always provided. Our installers will set it up initially to suit your needs and lifestyle, along with a brief overview of the basics. Most brands also have a help line, which we encourage.
Depending on the system, a basic switch or LED/lCD control panel is used to operate the fan speed and on/off, which will require adjusting depending on the time of the year.
How long will a ventilation system take to install?
Installation can take up to 3-4 hours depending on the vents required and size of home.
Can I install a ventilation system by myself?
Any electrical work must be carried out by a registered electrician. All of our installers are NZ qualified and experienced and will produce a Certificate of Compliance (COC) within 24 hours of the installation, which is a legal requirement.
